Figma integration

With the Figma integration, FeatValue shows links to Figma files and frames as cards with a preview. Your clients open the design live in the client portal and comment on it without a Figma account. Their comments land on the frame in Figma.

What the Figma integration is for

Design agencies review drafts with their clients. With the integration, that review happens in the task in FeatValue, while your design team still gets the feedback in Figma:

  • Figma links in task descriptions and comments appear as cards with a thumbnail and the file and frame name.
  • One click opens the live view in FeatValue. Your client zooms, flips through the frames and comments next to it, without a Figma account.
  • Client comments appear on the matching frame in Figma automatically.
  • On approval, FeatValue records which Figma version was signed off.

An overview with examples is on the Figma page.

Requirements

  • a FeatValue account for your agency with at least one client and project (see Creating projects)
  • a Figma account with access to the files you want to show your clients
  • for the live view: the Figma file is shared by link ("Anyone with the link can view"). Your client does not need a Figma account.

Where to find it

You set up the connection under Apps in the left sidebar (see Connecting apps). After that there is no separate menu item: Figma appears as a card right in tasks and comments.

How it works

  1. Connect Figma

Open Apps, choose Figma and click Install. Sign in to Figma, allow access and confirm App access with Grant access. The connection applies to your whole agency and all projects. You only connect once.
  2. In Figma, copy the link to a file or to a single frame and paste it into a task description or a comment. FeatValue shows the link as a card with a thumbnail and the file and frame name.
  3. Open the live view

Clicking the card (Open Figma view) opens the live view in FeatValue. There you zoom and flip through the frames. Open in Figma opens the file in Figma, Close takes you back to the task.
  4. Comment

The comment panel sits to the right of the live view, just like for PDFs and images (see File comments). When your client comments there, FeatValue sends the comment to exactly that frame in Figma.
  5. Approve

When your client approves the task (see Review and acceptance), FeatValue adds a comment to the task: file, frame, Figma version and date, with a link to exactly that state. A short approval note appears on the frame in Figma.
Link single frames instead of the whole file. Then each client comment lands on exactly the frame it is about.

What is transferred

In FeatValue Result Direction
Figma link in a task or comment Card with thumbnail, file and frame name, live view Figma → FeatValue
Client comment on a task with a Figma link Comment on the frame in Figma, with the client's name and a link to the task FeatValue → Figma
Comment from your team Stays in FeatValue and is not written to Figma none
Task approval Comment on the task with the approved Figma version, note on the frame in Figma FeatValue → Figma

Which frame a comment goes to: if your client writes in the live view, it is the open frame. Otherwise FeatValue uses the Figma link in the comment itself, then the link in the task description. Comments written in Figma are not brought into FeatValue.

Permissions and plans

The connection belongs to your agency. FeatValue writes client comments with the Figma account that set up the connection, with the client's name in front of the text. Like all integrations under Apps, Figma is included in all plans.

Troubleshooting

The live view stays empty or asks for a sign-in

The file is not shared by link in Figma. Set the file's sharing to "Anyone with the link can view" and open the card again.

A comment does not appear in Figma

Only client comments go to Figma, not comments from your team. Also check that Figma is connected under Apps and that the connected Figma account has access to the file.

The card shows no thumbnail

Without a connection, or if the connected Figma account has no access, FeatValue can only read files that are shared publicly. Connect Figma or share the file by link.
